"May you always listen to your heart, and follow your intuition."
Gentle Yoga is considered softer, less intense, non-strenuous, minimalist, quiet, meditative and restorative. All levels.
Makes the rough road smooth. A slower paced style class of yoga first to get a feel for the poses. Not hard and not soft. All levels.
1/2 FLOW & 1/2 YIN
Blends two styles of yoga into one practice. Yin & Yang is the combination of passive (Yin) and vigorous (Yang) yoga practices to create balance by exerting yourself and quieting yourself. All levels.
Vinyasa flow emphasis on the movement, or ebb and flow, between poses. Vinyasa flow is often seen as a more athletic practice. The pace is usually quick, requiring practitioner to focus inward, while synchronizing breath and movement. Mid level.
In truth, restorative yoga is simply that - restorative. It is the centering of your breath and body - aligning the physical and mental by practicing stillness or gentle movement for extended periods of time. The props assist in helping you to hold poses longer, giving you a sense of peace and calm in a busy world. All levels.
This is a great rounded class to suit everyone. It is a little bit of everything - stretching, strengthening, balancing, breathing and meditation. This class is great for beginners and intermediates alike on days when you want something a little move chilled out. All levels.
My yoga journey began in 2001 when I signed up for a class with two friends. We really only wanted an excuse to spend time together; we giggled through many classes. I quickly found that yoga offered more than girl-time; it changed my relationship with myself. Yoga began to feel like freedom.
As I became a more experienced practitioner, opportunities to teach yoga kept coming up. I was, and continue to be, thrilled to share the gift of yoga with others. I believe that the mind-body-soul connection should be explored and nurtured, and yoga is the perfect means to do that. I strive to create an uplifting and safe environment, encouraging students move in a thoughtful manner, using breath work and personal expression. I also want students to have fun and be challenged as they explore and grow within the body and consciousness.
When not practicing yoga, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Larry, and Jack Russell Terrier, Poppy. I love gardening, shopping, and cooking, not necessarily in that order.
“Yoga is like music. The rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind, and the harmony of the soul creates the symphony of life.” B.K.S. Iyengar
I love being active. I enjoy traveling. I love watching movies. I enjoy riding my motorcycle named Franky. I love learning. I am passionate about education. I just obtained by Masters degree and I am a special needs teacher in Sacramento. I am inspired by random acts of kindness. My favorite color is blue, however orange is working its way up there. I love music. I love singing at the top of my lungs with reckless abandon specifically when my motorcycle helmet is on and I am riding. I love making people laugh and I love laughing with others. I love arm balances, abs, monkeys, lions, coffee, chocolate, deep leggy red wine, beer, omelettes, bare feet, love, music, travel, sun, water, my amazing family and friends I call family. Most of all, I love to smile because a smile is contagious and so is laughter.
As a yoga teacher, I have over 200 hours of teacher training. My teachings include Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga, Flow, Hot, Hybrid and Restorative/Stretch. Yoga is a study. A study of the self. Thanks to yoga, everyday I find more and more of this amazing self. I am passionate, driven, strong and inspired about life and all that I still have to learn and unlearn. I am a grateful yogi who teaches from a place of love, intention, mind body connection and pure passion. Lastly, I love human touch so hopefully you are ok with yummy juicy assists. Much love. Namaste. Om shanti shanti shanti. (Peace in body, speech, and mind).
Hello! My name is Kristy, I am 21 years young and have been a certified yoga teacher for 3 years now. I started practicing yoga about 6 years ago at a local gym and immediately became inspired to become a teacher one day. I worked at a gym called Fit 1 in my hometown of Auburn, CA where i taught a morning flow class. I then moved to San Luis Obispo to attend college and pursue my love for yoga and nutrition, where I taught a gentle and vinyasa class in Morro Bay. I am now currently going to Sacramento State and teaching yoga in Auburn. I love teaching a variety of classes from beginner to vinyasa to yin. Though i am new to teaching, i am a passionate and energetic teacher with new eyes and new ideas.
